Hot-pressing moulds

Hot Pressing is an innovative process in which advanced ultra-high strength steels are more efficiently machined into complex shapes than conventional cold stamping.

The method refers to heating the billets until they are malleable, then forming, then rapidly cooling the specially designed metal mould, and finally completing the process of transformation and strengthening of the hardness.

Because this capability can be effectively combined with strength and complexity, stamped and hardened parts can achieve a relatively lightweight piece, while thicker, heavier parts are often welded together during cold stamping.

Hardened parts now represent one of the most advanced lightweight solutions forbody construction, while at the same time allowing us to improve crash performance and passenger safety.
