Hot-pressing moulds

Hot Pressing is an innovative process in which advancedultra-high strength steels are more efficiently machined into complex shapesthan conventional cold stamping.

The method refers to heating thebillets until they are malleable, then forming, then rapidly cooling thespecially designed metal mould, and finally completing the process oftransformation and strengthening of the hardness.

Because this capability can beeffectively combined with strength and complexity, stamped and hardened partscan achieve a relatively lightweight piece, while thicker, heavier parts areoften welded together during cold stamping.

Hardened parts now represent one of themost advanced lightweight solutions forbody construction, while at the sametime allowing us to improve crash performance and passenger safety.
